A protective, sound-reactive light-up mask Lady Gaga could sing live in for her mid-pandemic VMAs performance. Fans built their own copies within days.

With COVID-19 restrictions on face coverings, Lady Gaga wanted a one-of-a-kind mask for her 2020 VMAs performance: protective, sound-reactive, and not in the way of singing live on set.
We built it around our wireless communication system, with breath-flow sensing and a ventilation system so the lighting responded to her voice without muffling it.
After the show aired we were flooded with requests for custom versions, fans built their own working copies, and Gaga had us reprogram the mask for her VOTE campaign around the 2020 election.
